Hickox-Adriel James “Jim” Armantrout, 83 of Hickox, passed away Saturday (January 16, 2016) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, following a brief illness.
Born in Muncie, Indiana, his parents were Adriel Edwin Armantrout and Caroline Bayman.
Adriel served as a Sergeant in the United States Army and in the Korean War. He also was retired from Briggs and Stratton as District Sales Manager for South Florida. He moved from Miami, Fl., to Kingsland in 1988, and has lived in Brantley County since 1996.
Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Emma Smith Armantrout, of Hickox; two sons, Adriel James Armantrout II, of Jesup, and David Jon Armantrout, of St. Mary’s; 5 grandchildren, Elizabeth Armantrout, of IN., Christina Haynes, of TX, Adriel J. Armantrout III, of Kingsland, Reva Miller, of Illinois, David Jon Armantrout II, of St. Mary’s; 5 great grandchildren, Hudson Haynes, Carter Armantrout, Olivia Miller, Greyson Miller, and David Jon Armantrout III.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
