Albert Steve Harrison

July 5, 1942 — February 4, 2014

Nahunta-Albert "Steve" Harrison, 71 of Nahunta, passed away Tuesday afternoon (February 4, 2014) at his residence. Born in Baxley, GA, his parents were Alfred and Ottice Sowell Harrison. He was also preceded in death by his wife Vicky Westbury Harrison, 2 sisters, Ruby Harrison, Mina Joiner; and 4 brothers, Alfred Junior Harrison, Emmett Harrison, Benjamin Harrison, William Joel "Bill" Harrison. Steve was an upholsterer. He loved to bar-b-q. He enjoyed his family, fishing and all types of building projects, he also served in the United States Army. Survivors include a daughter Honey Louise Harrison, of Nahunta; 6 Step Children; 3 immediate grandchildren, Michael Newcomer, Diana Newcomer, and Geneva Newcomer; and several step grandchildren; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Fariba "Faye" Colman, and Eunice (Tom) Newcomer, of Savannah. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A memorial service will be held Saturday afternoon (February 8, 2014) at 2 PM at Southside Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Johns officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation and burial will be at the Florida National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
