Aletha Mae White

May 21, 1919 — July 29, 2015

Hickox- Aletha Mae Herrin White, 96 of Hickox, passed away Wednesday evening (July 29, 2015) at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Wayne County which is now Brantley County she was the daughter of Joseph Madison "Mack" Herrin and Julia Thrift Herrin. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Willie Lee "Bill" White; and 10 siblings, Isabell Highsmith, Edna Manor, Joseph Herrin, Elias Herrin, Jim R. Herrin, Alfred Herrin, Ernest Herrin, Julie Davis, Johnnie Herrin and Jerry Herrin. Mrs. White worked as secretary for Brantley County Extension Office for twenty years, she was a faithful member of Hickox Baptist Church since 1950 where she taught Sunday school for many years. A member of The Senior Ladies Sunday School Class, The Brantley County Senior Citizens, and The Brantley Home Demonstration Club. She also served for many years as a Chaperone for The 4-H'ers at Camp. Ms. Aletha Mae loved quilting, working in her flowers, and spending time with her loving family. Survivors include her 3-sons and their spouses, Wayne and Shirley White, of Brunswick, James Madison "J.M" and Betty White , Wilfred and Shirley White , both of Hickox., 2-daughters and their husbands, Allyson and Larry Johns, Denise and Allan Brooks , both of Hickox. 12-Grandchildren, Sara, Lawton, Hannah, Scott, Mark, Michael, Bruce, Donovan, Jarrett, Justin, David and Rhonda, 25-Great-Grandchildren, Michael, Josh, Reagan, Evan, Lauren, Kali, Sierra, Marah, Gavin, Madison, Jeffery, Riley, Jacob, Kaitlyn, Griffen, Morgan, Ryder, Colton, Autry, Austin, Dallas, Derrick, Travis, Peyton and Ethan, 6-Great-Great-Grandchildren, Cole, Emeri, Noah, Alaina, Raiden and Daisy, a special sister and friend and brother-in-law, Janie and Edward Brand, of Hickox, also several Nieces, Nephews and other Relatives; and her special caregivers, Linda Chesser and Jill Brand(Dr. Jill). Visitation will be held Friday evening (July 31, 2015) at Hickox Baptist Church from 6PM - until. Funeral services for Mrs. Aletha Mae Herrin White will be held Saturday morning (August 1, 2015) at 10 A.M. from Hickox Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Giddens and Rev. Mike Hendrix officiating. Pallbearers will be her nine Grandsons, Lawton, Scott, Mark, Michael and Bruce White, Donovan, Jarrett and Justin Johns and David Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Deacons of Hickox Baptist Church and The Men and Ladies Senior Sunday School Class. All Honorary are asked to please meet at the church Saturday morning by 9:30 A.M. In Lieu of Flowers may donate to Hickox Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
