Alta Bedell Johns

Alta Bedell Johns, 60 of Cincinnati, passed away Friday (May 29, 2015) at The Jewish Hospital in Cincinnati, OH, following a brief illness. Born in Bakersfield, CA, her parents were Cy Thomas Johns and Irma Floy Lee Johns. She is also preceded in death by her grandparents who raised her, Oliver and Mallie Johns. Bedell worked as an Accountant for Medical Suppliers, and also was Assistant Administrator of Savannah Memorial Hospital in her earlier career. She Graduated as Valedictorian of Brantley County High School Class of 1972. She then went on to attend college at Georgia Southern University where she graduated in 1976. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, and was a member of the Center for Spiritual Living. Survivors include her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Teresa Johns, of Nahunta, Kenny and Cheryl Johns, of Waycross; nieces, and nephews, Dustin Johns, ( fianc'e Nicole Rooks) Thomas Johns (Jadison), Roxy Sheffield (Derrick), of Waycross, Jesy Latham (Jason), of Brunswick; great nephew, Dax Sheffield; and also several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives. A Graveside Service will be held Friday morning (June 5, 2015) at 11AM at Corinth Cemetery with Rev. Sheldon Rowell officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the graveside. Honorary pallbearers will be Brantley County High School Class of 1972.They are asked to meet by 10:30 Friday at The Corinth Cemetery Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
