Folkston – Amanda Newman Harris, 55, of Folkston passed away early Tuesday morning (October 11, 2022) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross after a brief illness.
Born in Blackshear, GA her mother was Barbara “Gail” Newman Crews. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Lamar Crews.
Amanda was a homemaker and loved watching NASCAR and cooking.
Survivors include her son, K.C. Harris (fiancé Deanna Coleman) of Folkston; 2 daughters, Ashley Harris (fiancé A.J. Ethriedge) and Amber Johnson all of Waynesville; 4 grandchildren, Dayton Johnson, Cypress Dykes, Averie Ethreidge, and William Coleman; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, Jonathan Newman of Waycross and Jeff Crews (Linda) of Nahunta; a sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda Corbitt (Tony) of Raybon; a special friend, Michael Crews; and his son, Randall Crews, both of Hickox; Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
A funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon (October 13, 2022) at 2pm at Sandhill Baptist Church with Rev. Freddie Newman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service starting at 1pm.
Burial will follow in Sandhill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be A.J. Ethriedge, Mike Harris, Randall Crews, Shannon Newman, Trenton Newman and Stevens Harris.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
