Annette Chesser

Annette Hickox Chesser, 57 of Nahunta, passed away Sunday night (August 28, 2016) at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Waycross, GA., her parents are Mary Alene Crews Hickox Griner, of Nahunta and the late John Perry Hickox. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, John Samuel Chesser; her stepfather, Raiford Griner; and her father-in-law, Samuel Chesser.

She was a member of Nahunta Church of God, and attended Hoboken Baptist Church. Annette retired from the Brantley County School System as a Para Pro in the special needs program. Annette enjoyed family and grandkids , going out to eat and socializing with friends.

Survivors include her husband, Barry S. Chesser, of Nahunta; her son and daughter-in-law, Barry S. “Bo” and Cristina Chesser , Jr., of Nahunta; her daughter and son-in-law, Ashlie Marie and Christopher Mudge, of Jamestown; four grandchildren, Samuel Chesser, Eli Chesser, both of Nahunta, Caleb Mudge, and Blake Mudge, both of Jamestown; her mother, Mary Alene Crews Hickox Griner, of Nahunta; her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara Ann and John McLaughlin, of Salisbury, NC.; three stepsisters and their spouses, Trisha and Kenny Moon, of Ludowici, Brenda Kent, of Jesup, and Tammy and Eric Kasperian, of Jesup; her mother-in-law, Juanita Chesser, of Nahunta; two sisters-in-law and their spouses, Elaine and Hubert Wilson, of Nahunta, Arlene and David Jacobs, of Nahunta. Also several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (August 30, 2016) at from 3PM-4:30PM at Hoboken Baptist Church.

A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday (August 30, 2016) at 4:30PM at Hoboken Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Florey and Rev. Ben Glosson officiating.

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Harris, Dustin Ray, Timmy Smith, Tim King, Robbie Harris, Bobby Crews, and Sonny Hickox.

Honorary pallbearers will be Brantley County Middle School Staff, Brantley County Board of Education, and Hospice of Satilla.

In lieu of flowers donation can be made to South East Cancer Unit; 401 Pendleton St. Waycross, GA 31501; or Brantley County Middle School Special Olympics; 10990 Hwy 82, Nahunta, Ga. 31553.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
