Annette Moody Rowell

Hortense – Annette Moody Rowell, 71, of Hortense passed away Sunday evening (December 27, 2020) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after an extended illness.

Born in Blackshear, GA her parents were Rev. Lester Edward Moody and Nola Mae Thomas Moody. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Mark Edwin Rowell; a brother, J.E. Moody; and a sister, Latrelle Boatright.

Annette was a beautician and a member of Satilla Missionary Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family, watching Hallmark and riding on the buggy.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Tony & Julie Rowell of Hoboken; a daughter and son-in-law, Christy & Justin Johns of Hortense; 5 grandchildren, Austin Medlock (Theresa) of Nahunta, Dallas Thomas (E.J.) of Alaska, Derrick Bradshaw (Laney) of Nahunta, Jayden Rowell of Hoboken and Jackson Rowell of Hoboken; 6 special great grandchildren; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, , Glynell & Wanell Moody of Baxley and Jerry & Susie Moody of Mershon; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are highly recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday afternoon (December 30, 2020) at 2pm at Satilla Cemetery with Rev. Tracey Moody and Rev. Terry Jackson. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to the service Wednesday starting at 1:30PM.
