Annie Lou Loyd

Nahunta-Mrs. Annie Lou Loyd, 96 of Blackshear, passed away Sunday afternoon (April 17, 2016) at the Pierce County Nursing Home, in Blackshear, GA., following an extended illness.

She was a native of Brantley County and was born in Tarrytown, GA., her parents were Rufus Deen Riner and Eva Mae Scott Riner. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Arnold Loyd, Sr.; a son, Blake Loyd; three brothers ; Lynwood E. Riner, Gerald D. Riner, and Ronald D. Riner, and one sister Evelyn Riner Perkins

Mrs. Loyd was a homemaker and a member of Nahunta First Baptist Church she loved gardening and was a member of The Garden Club in Brantley County. Also was an active member in Home Demonstration Club, enjoyed cooking and was a very good seamstress, she also loved crocheting, making flower arrangements, painting and most of all loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren..

Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, George A. and Dale Loyd, of Blackshear, Greg and Peggy Loyd, of Gainesville, GA, and Stuart Loyd, of Rome, GA; her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Beth and Carroll Deen, of Waycross; 10 grandchildren; Kecia D. Banks, (Tommy) of Waycross, Kacie D. Sasser, (Michael) of Jacksonville, FL., Brandon C. Deen, of Waycross, Priscilla L. Bergern, (Terry), of Kennesaw, Scott W. Loyd, (Jo Ann), of Warner Robins, Joey Loyd, Chris Loyd, Ryan Loyd, Evan Loyd and Drew Loyd all of Rome,11 great grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-law, Geneva and Bill Young, a special sister-in-law, Dorothy Hale, of Tifton, Also many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday (Apr. 20,2016) at 3 P.M. from the chapel of Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta with Rev. Derwin Griffin officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Deen, Scott, Ryan and Drew Loyd, Pierce Thrift and Jase Batten.
