Nahunta- Ms. April Lea McLaughlin Thornton, 32, and her infant son, Chase Alexander Kemp, 10 month old, both died Thursday from injuries they received in an automobile accident. Ms. April was born in Gowanda, N.Y. and was the daughter of Randy Lee Mc Laughlin & Rose Thornton Holliday. A member at The Southside Baptist Church in Nahunta, she loved making jewelry, singing and was a Nail Technician at Nails By April. Preceded in death by her son Chase A. Kemp, Maternal-Grandfather, Redick Thornton and her Paternal- Grandparents, Judith Golden (Jim) and Lester McLaughlin. Ms. April is survived by her 2-children, Caleb Hein and Andrea McLaughlin, both of Nahunta, her Parents, Randy McLaughlin (Barbara), of Eden, N.Y., Rose Thornton Holliday (David), of Winter haven, Florida, Maternal-Grandmother, Shirleen Thornton, of Waynesville, 1-Brother David Hawkins (Christy), of Buffalo, N.Y., 4-Sisters, Jennifer Hope, of Waynesville, GA., Jeannie Parkinson (William), of Waynesville, GA., Natasha Hawkins, of N.Y. and Mindy McDougal, of N.C., a very special aunt, Abba McLaughlin, of Perby, N.Y., also several other aunts, uncles and other relatives. Visitation for April and Chase will be 1 hour prior to services Sunday at The Waynesville Church of God. Services will be at 2P.M. Sunday (Sept. 30, 2012) at Waynesville Church of God , in Waynesville with Rev. James Evans, Rev. Jerry Johns and Bishop Hugh Arnold. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mount Olive Cemetery in Waynesville. Pallbearers will be Bobo Thornton, Robbie Thornton, Steven Thornton, Allen Thornton, David Hawkins, Robbie Morgan, Josh Thornton and Nick Roberson. The family request donations be made to Aprils two other children. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing our online registry at fryefh.com.
