Hortense-Archie Moody, 64 of Hortense, passed away Friday (March 7, 2014) at his residence. Born in Hortense, GA, his parents were Warren and Gussie Sloan Moody. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Norma Jean Oliver Moody; a brother, Alvin Moody; and 2 sisters, Corene Roberson and Irene Drury. Archie worked as a Metal Fabricator and Mechanic for Ace Pole. He was a member of the Philadelphia Wesleyan Church, and loved fishing, old cars, and ice cream. Survivors include his 2 children, Warren Moody (Heather Strickland), of Hortense; and Gussie Taylor (Wes Woodard), also of Hortense; 2 grandsons, Dawson and Brody; 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Althalene Jacobs (Junior), Eula Crews (Odie); his mother and father-in-law, Ben and Shirley Duggan; 2 special nurses, Jill Brand and Melissa Walls. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Visitation will be held Sunday evening (March 9, 2014) from 6-9PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Monday afternoon (March 10, 2014) at 2 PM, at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. R.C. Mathis, Rev. Ron Stayman, and Rev. Sheldon Rowell officiating. Burial will follow in the Hortense Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin Causey, Eric Causey, Tony Dean, Brandon Willis, Brad Jacobs, Mark Jacobs, Tommy Townsend, Josh Roberson, C.L. Lewis, and Billy Nabb. Honorary pallbearers will be Dawson Taylor and Jackson Causey. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
