Arthur Newman Lassiter

Waynesville- Arthur Newman Lassiter, also known as “Tushay” or “Arti” passed away Saturday (April 23, 2022) at his loving home with his family by his side.
Born in Rockingham, NC., his parents were the late John Henry Lassiter and Berline Burr Lassiter. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Berlin Lassiter; and two sisters, Elizabeth Duncan and Heddie Bell Wallace.
Arthur spent most of his life being a mechanic on Heavy Duty Machines at King and Prince of Brunswick, GA. Arthur was a hardworking man who never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a great family man, a great husband, and is already missed so dearly.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Peggy Lassiter; their beloved children, Arthur Tushay Lassiter, John Lassiter, and Gwen Lassiter; 9 grandchildren, Alexis Lassiter, Colby Lassiter, Daisy Lassiter, Julius Lassiter, Brynlee Lassiter, Henry Allen, Little Brandon, Christina McKenzie, and Dustin Holzman; and a great grandchild, Lilly Belle. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday (April 27, 2022) from 6-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
