Mr. Banner Jesse Wainright, 85, of Nahunta died early Saturday morning (July 18, 2009) at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA after an extended illness. Born in Brantley, Co., GA his parents were Jesse Bud and Janie Elizabeth Herrin Wainright. He is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Wendi Wainright. He worked in construction as a crane operator with Union Carbide in Camden County, before he retired, and was a member of Hickox Baptist Church. Mr. Banner also served Brantley County as a former County commissioner, a road supervisor and was a master fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Annie Mae DePratter Wainright of Nahunta; five children & their spouses, Gary Wainright, Terry & Paula Wainright all of Hickox, Paul Wainright of Orlando, FL, Pattie Wainright & Wayne Hosti of Savannah, GA and Joy & Doug Rudd of Newnan, GA; 9 Grandchildren Jason & Kerry Wainright, Haili & Heather Wainright, , Jeffery Wainright, Sarah Wainright, Jordan Wainright, Jesse Wainright, Ashlyn Hosti, and Jonathan Rudd; 4 Great Grandchildren, Austin & Gavin Wainright, Reagan DePratter and Jaylen Raulerson; a sister and brother-in-law, Carrie & Harry Pearson of Hickox; Also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Sunday evening (July 19, 2009) starting at 6 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral services will be held Monday morning (July 20, 2009) at 11 a.m. at Hickox Baptist Church with Rev. Ray McMillan and Rev. Randy Wainright officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Hickox, GA. Active pallbearers will be Keith Martino, Jimmy Harrington, Randy Johns, Will Johns, William Wainright and Josh Wainright. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Hickox, Eldon Thomas, Jerrell Herrin, Cecil Harris, Virgil Rowell, Edward Brand and Clayton Carter.
