Waynesville-Mrs. Barbara Ann Lewis Phillips,77, of Waynesville went home to be with The Lord early Friday morning (Nov. 22,2013) at Hospice of The Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA. Barbara was born to Ennis and Mildred Lewis at Lottsburg, Virginia. She devoted the majority of her early years of marriage to being a wife and mother, both of which she did a superb job. Barbara later was employed at the then Rogers Drug Store in Brunswick, And Share Care Services also in Brunswick until the early 1990 when she was forced to retire due to medical issues. After recovery she devoted her efforts to continued family obligations and involvement in her church, Nahunta First Baptist Church, and was active with The Golden Oldies Singing Group. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William L. "Bill" Phillips, of Waynesville, two daughters and a son-in-law, Yvonne l. and Carroll King, of Waynesville and Debra A. Phillips, of Brunswick, a son, William E. "Bill" Phillips, of Brunswick, three grandchildren, Holly Lynn Durden (Adam), of Waynesville, Ashley Nichole Simmons (Chris), of Jesup and Tyrus Skipper, of Brunswick, two great-grandchildren, Tyler Durden and Shae Simmons, and several cousins. Visitation will be Monday evening (Nov. 25,2013) from 6 til 8 at The Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta. Funeral services for Mrs. Phillips will be held Tuesday morning (Nov. 26, 2013) at 11 A.M. from The Nahunta First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Carson officiating. Private entombment services will be held in The Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery, Brunswick. Pallbearers will be Bill Peters, Joey Dykes, Larry Corbitt, Tim Burkhalter, Pat Browning and Mike Stevens. Honorary Pallbearers will be The Heavenly Bound Ladies Sunday School Class of The Nahunta First Baptist Church and The Golden Oldies Singing Group. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway Brunswick, GA. 31525, however flowers are appreciated. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing our online registry at fryefh.com.
