Blackshear – Barbara Jean “Nanny” Crews, 85, of Blackshear passed away Friday (February 28, 2025) at Bayview Nursing Home after an extended illness.

Born in Little Rock, Arkansas her parents were Benjamin Arthur Morgan and Dorothy Morgan. She is also preceded in death by her husband,Thomas Crews ; a daughter, Arlene Pittman; 2 sisters, Betty Lou Frisks and Valeria Mae Grant; and a brother, Benny Morgan.

Barbara “Nanny” worked for Bowen’s Dairy for over 40 years and was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church. She loved riding horses and racing.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Paul Jorgensen (Melissa) of Waycross; 4 grandchildren, Lacie Jorgensen (Alex Collins) of Waycross, Tracy Jorgensen of Blackshear, Ashley Tanner (Bobby) of Hoboken and Victoria Nasworth (Jimmy Buchanan) of Waycross; 9 great grandchildren, Kyler, Kaleb, Kylie, Kolden, Kolby, Casey, Kade, Logan and Kolton; a brother, J.P. Morgan of AK; and also several other relatives and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
