Barbara Elaine Abrams

Barbara Elaine Strickland Abrams, 67, of Hortense died early Tuesday morning(October 19, 2010) at Toombs Nursing and Rehab Center in Lyons, GA after an extended illness. Born in Brunswick, GA her parents were Matthew Gabriel & Earlene Sally Harrison Strickland. She is also preceded in death by her son Mark Allen Abrams. Elaine was a teacher for 30 years before retiring. She was also a member of Glynn Baptist Church in Thalmann and loved reading, crocheting, floral arrangements and painting. Survivors include a granddaughter, Brittney Elaine Abrams of Brunswick; a brother & sister-in-law, Gerald Matthew & Gerda Strickland of Germany; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Sandra Faye Blount of Waynesville and Carol Ann & Pete Howard of Darien; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday (October 30, 2010) starting at 10am at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A memorial service will be held Saturday (October 30, 2010) at 11AM at Frye Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Jones and Rev. C.B. Wainright officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation.
