Barbara Lee Hendrix

Atkinson- Barbara Lee Hendrix, 66 of Hortense died Wednesday afternoon (December 21, 2011) at the Hospice of the Golden Isles following and extended illness. Born in Jesup, Ga., her parents were Robert Harvey Lee and Pearl Grooms Drawdy. She is also preceded in death by her husband Everett Hite, a brother, Harold Grooms, 2 sisters, Corean Mixon, and Icie Rozier. Barbara was a homemaker and a member of Grace Community Church. She also loved her dogs. Survivors include 3 sons and daughter-in-laws, Robert and Darlene Hite, John and Kim Hite, and Richard and Mona Hite all of Atkinson; 1 sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Gene Broach of South Carolina; 10 grand children;4 great grand children; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday evening (December 23, 2011) from 6-9PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (December 24, 2011) at 11AM at Frye Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ion Johns officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Hickox. Pallbearers will be Kenny Grooms, Rodney Pittman, Aaron Hite, Wade Hite, Hank Davis, and JR Pittman. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
