Benny Thomas

Nahunta-Charles "Benny" Thomas, 65 of Nahunta, passed away Sunday morning at his residence following an extended illness. Born in Jesup, GA., his parents were the late Alfred and Charlotte Rushing Thomas, Jr. Benny was a member of Hickox Baptist Church and retired from A. D. C. He loved fishing and hunting, and was in the United States Florida National Guard. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Ruby Wilson Thomas, of Nahunta; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles Benny and Heather Thomas II, of Mystic, Connecticut, Ryan Thomas, of Charlotte, NC; a daughter, Amy Thomas, of Baxley; 5 grandchildren, Victoria Sior, Chad Sior, Lexie Sior, Lauren Thomas, and Madison Thomas; 4 brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Lorna Thomas, Terry and Charlene Thomas, Keith and Zada Thomas, and Paul and Bonnie Thomas, all of Hickox. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. A Visitation will be Tuesday evening (December 4, 2012) from 6-9PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be Wednesday morning (December 5, 2012) at 11 AM at Hickox Baptist Church with Dr. Derrell Rentz and Rev. Charles Florey officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Thomas, Bradley Thomas, Danny Thomas, Timmy Thomas, Robert Wilson, and Chris Thomas. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
