Betty Carol Hickox

Jacksonville, FL.-Betty Carol Richardson Hickox, 68 of Jacksonville, passed away Friday (July 15, 2016) at Orange Park Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born in Nashville, GA., her parents were James Arthur Richardson and Carolyn McNabb Giddens. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Angela Carol Greene; and a brother, Jackie Richardson.

Betty worked many years as a Dental Assistant. She was of the Baptist Faith. She loved being a mother, dancing, movies, and going to church. She was a social butterfly, and was loved by everyone who knew her.

Survivors include her husband of 22 years, Richard Hickox, of Jacksonville; her daughter and son-in-law, Ginger and Patrick Garner, of Savannah; 4 grandchildren, Ryann Lee Sheldon, Casey Alley Sheldon, Rider Sheldon, Stone Sheldon; their father, Dean Sheldon; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Hilda Richardson, of Naylor, GA., and Travis and Connie Richardson, of Melbourne, of Melbourne, FL. Also several, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

A Graveside service will be held Friday (July 22, 2016) at 10AM at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. E.C. Crews officiating. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
