Betty Herrin Hendrix, 82 of Hickox died Saturday afternoon (March 13, 2010) at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Hickox, GA her parents were Joseph Henry and Lula Mae Blocker Herrin. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Hendrix, Sr.; 2 sons, Ricky and Ronnie Hendrix; and a step-grandson, Josh Strickland. She was a social worker for Concerted Services for 23 years , a pastors wife and was a member of Hickox Baptist Church where she was a big part in establishing the church. Ronald and her pastored Grace Baptist Church, Lulaton Baptist Church and Winokur Baptist Church and was s Sunday School teacher and a song leader. Betty also a member of Hickox Fishing Club, Brantley Co. Senior Citizens and was loved by the elderly. Survivors include 4 children and their spouses, Diane & Julian Willis, Mike & Lois Hendrix, Sr. and Lulu & Corbett Wilson all of Nahunta and Debbie & Cesar Rodriguez of Hinesville, GA.; a daughter-in-law, Penny Hendrix of Nahunta; 18 grandchildren and their spouses, Marty & Angie Hendrix of Nahunta, Dean & Sherry Hendrix of Nahunta, Jody & Jodi Hendrix of Yulee, FL, Chad Hendrix of Nahunta, Scott & Charlotte Willis of Nahunta, Lisa & Kent Thomas of Lake Park, GA, Lori & Terry Logan of Nahunta, Christina & Bill Tomlinson of Nahunta, Michael & Nikki Hendrix of Nahunta, Josh & Renee Hendrix of Nahunta, Becky & Dean Lane of Hortense, Chris & Jennifer Wilson of Nahunta, Jeffrey & Angel Wilson of Nahunta , Amy & Kevin Middleton of Nahunta, Elizabeth Davis , Cesar Rodriguez, Jr., Alexander Rodriguez and Sophia Rodriguez all of Hinesville, GA; 34 great grandchildren; a brother-in-law Horace Jacobs of Nahunta; sister-in-law, Fyrn Clark of Savannah; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Monday evening (March 15, 2010) from 6-8 P.M. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Tuesday afternoon (March 16, 2010) at 2 P.M. at Hickox Baptist Church with Rev. Ray McMillan, Rev. Randy Carson and officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Hickox. Pallbearers will be Marty Hendrix, Dean Hendrix, Jody Hendrix, Chad Hendrix, Scott Willis, Michael Hendrix, Josh Hendrix, Chris Wilson, Jeffrey Wilson, Cesar Rodriguez, Jr. and Alexander Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be Senior Ladies Sunday School Class, Training Union Class, Brantley Co. Senior Citizens, and G.W. & Ivene Knox and Bogie Kyser .
