Nahunta- Mrs. Betty Jean Jacobs Wilson,66,of Nahunta died Tuesday evening (December 21, 2010) at Southeast Georgia Health System after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Waycross, her parents are Laverne Swearingen Jacobs, of Nahunta and the late Joseph Lindsey Jacobs. She attended the Raybon Church of God of Prophecy and had served on the Nahunta City Council and as Mayor Protem, She had worked many years as a private care giver, also as a deli manager. Preceded in death by her father and her husband Robert "Bobby" H. Wilson. Survived by her two children and their spouse, Debbie and Rev. Bruce Dean, of Raybon, Robert H. Wilson, Jr. and Linda, of Hortense; 3 Grandchildren, Jeannie Pittman, Ellis Dean and Madison Wilson; 2 Great Grandchildren, Julianna and Ramsey Pittman; her Mother, Laverne Jacobs; 2 Brothers and a sister-in-law, J. L. Jacobs and Gail of Hickox and Ronnie Jacobs of Nahunta; 3 Sisters, Wanda Smith, Helen Wainright and Phyllis May all of Nahunta; also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral service will be Friday morning at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Florey and Rev. Richard Dykes officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Raybon. In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be given to S. E. GA Cancer, 401 Pendleton St. Waycross, GA 31501. Pallbearers will be J. R. Pittman,Michael Charles Wilson, Elkin Strickland, Eddie Lewis and Julian Willis. Honorary pallbearers will be Rev. Roy Jacobs, Rev. Glen Carter, Rev. R. C. Mathis, Rev. Frank Jacobs, Rev. Raymond Willis, Rev. Leon Wilson, Rev. Randy Wainright and Rev. Ion Johns. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
