Betty Jean Tyre

Nahunta- Betty Jean Tyre, 49, of Nahunta passed away Thursday (August 6, 2020) from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born in Waycross, Georgia, her parents Ralph Benjamen Tyre and Lillian Pellicer Tyre.

Betty was of the Christian faith and a God fearing woman. She loved football, her dogs, Jeff Gordon, and going to the beach.

She is survived by a son; Brandon Strickland, a daughter; Brittany Strickland, both of Nahunta, a very special friend; Eric Henderson, 3 Sisters; Tina Maxim of New York, Mary Ann Williamson of Brunswick, and Jennifer Tyre of New York, 4 nieces and nephews; Christina Maxim, James Williamson, IV, Blakely Brown, and Aaron Brown. Also several other family members and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services, the family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday morning (August 11, 2020) at 11 AM at New Hope Cemetery, Nahunta, GA., with Brother Frank Trusdell officiating.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
