Waynesville-Betty Sue Daniels McCarthy, 63 of Waynesville, passed away Monday morning (February 11, 2013) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick following an illness. Born in Waynesville, her parents were Matthew Wilbert Daniels, Sr. and Betty Jean Spradley. Betty worked for 36 years as a waitress at Twin Oaks. She was of the Baptist Faith, and loved to spend time with her family also enjoyed fishing and hunting. Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Joseph Lee McCarthy, of Waynesville; a son and daughter-in-law, Raymond Bruce and Donna McCarthy, of Waynesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Lee and Jason O'Neal, of Hortense; 7 grandchildren, Krystie Thomas, Kelly Clark and Michael Geiger, Adriene Harris, Ginger McCarthy, Dalton O'Neal, Brittany McCarthy, and Taylor O'Neal; 5 great grandchildren, Alissa Thomas, Dakota Clark, Cheyenne Clark, Winter Thomas, and Allison Clark; 6 Brothers and sisters-in-law, James W. and Wanda Daniels, of Waynesville, Joseph Wayne Daniels, of Brookman, Ronald M. Daniels, Donald M. Daniels, Mack and Glenda Daniels, and Richard and Rita Daniels, all of Waynesville; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Melvin Crosby, of Waynesville, Janie Turner, of Brunswick, Darlin and Jeffery Green, of Waynesville, and Faye and Gale Straight, of Brunswick. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday (February 15, 2013) from 12-2PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Friday at 2PM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Chancey and Rev. Danny Stilwell officiating. Pallbearers will be Michael Geiger, Tommy Lockhart, Jeremy Green, Joshua Daniels, Curtis McCarthy, Johnathan Daniels, and Robert Daniels. Burial will follow in Daniels Cemetery. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing our online registry at fryefh.com.
