Billie Sue Brauda

March 21, 1941 — December 10, 2017

Billie Sue Causey Brauda, 76 of Hortense, passed away Sunday (December 10, 2017) at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, following an extended illness.

Born in Hortense, GA., her parents were Burnice Causey and Pansy Holman Causey. She was also preceded in death by her 2 brothers, James “Buck” Causey and Sam Causey; and her sister, Lila Burnice Causey.

Billie Sue worked many years as a Paraprofessional and Administrative Assistant for the Brantley County School System. She was a member of Hortense Church of God of Prophecy and enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, cross stitching, crossword puzzles, and loved to travel.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Claude Brauda, of Hortense; a son and daughter-in-law, Christopher L. Brauda (Melissa), of Dawsonville, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Dewees (Steven), of Savannah; 3 grandchildren, Michaela Brauda, Matthew Brauda, and Ava Dewees; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, John Causey (Donna), of Hickox, Steve Causey, also of Hickox, and Bob Causey (Denise), of Brunswick; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary Alice Walker, of Nahunta, and Pat Morrell (Craig), of Brunswick. Also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be Wednesday (December 13, 2017) from 6PM-9PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday (December 14, 2017) at 11AM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Rob Hutto officiating.

Burial will follow in Satilla Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Brauda, Steven Dewees, Ronnie Brauda, James Holland, Brian Gibson, and Curtis Tompkins.

Family and pallbearers are asked to meet at the Funeral Home Thursday by 10:30AM.
