Nahunta - Billy Frank Bland, Jr., 40, of Nahunta, died suddenly Friday morning (January 27, 2012) at his residence. Born in Brunswick, GA he was the son of Debra Chesser of Nahunta & the late Billy F. Bland, Sr. He was of the Christian faith and worked as a Welder in boilermaking. He loved fishing, hunting, welding, and collecting knives and guns. Preceded in death by his father, Billy F. Bland, Sr.; Paternal Grandfather, Willie Bland; and Maternal Grandparents, James White & Elizabeth Glydwell. Survived by his wife, Cindy Bland of Bristol, TN; 2 step children, Rebekkah Sigmon of Roanoke, Virginia & Tracy Slaughter of Hoboken; his mother & step father, Debra & Charles Chesser of Nahunta; 1 brother, Michael White of Nahunta; 1 sister & a brother-In-law, Christy & Chad Moore of Hoboken; Paternal Grandmother, Georgia R. Bland of Savannah; also several other relatives and a host of friends. A visitation will be held Monday evening (Jan. 30, 2012) 6 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday afternoon (Jan. 31, 2012) at 2 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta, with Rev. Mike Lee officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery, Nahunta.
