Bishop Henry Blease Lain

September 18, 1946 — June 18, 2017

Brunswick- Bishop Henry Blease Lain, Jr., 70 of Brunswick, passed away Sunday morning (June 18, 2017) at his daughter's residence following an extended illness.

Born in Charleston, SC., his parents were Olas Joseph Lain and Betty Lucille Mazzell Lain Hendrix. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Rocky Flowers, Jr.

Mr. Lain had two Doctorate Degrees and two Masters Degrees; he retired from the United States Navy as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor, and also was an Associate Church of God Pastor. He enjoyed writing, ministering, counseling, cake decorating, spending time with his family and enjoying life to its fullest.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Grace Elaine Lain, of Brunswick; three children and their spouses, Henry J. Lain (Debra), of Piedmont, SC, Timeka G. Flowers (Rocky), of Hortense, and Ayhan T. Lain (Jennifer), of Novi, MI; 9 grandchildren, Daniel Lain (Terri), David Lain, Roxie Flowers, John King, Rebekah King, Hannah Lain, and Caroline Henry; 2 great grandchildren, Natalie Lain and David Lain, Jr.; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry Grimes (Deborah), of Johns Island, SC, James Grimes (Cindy), also of Johns Island, SC, Danny Grimes (Tina), of Ravenal, SC; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Belleu (M.C.), of Goose Creek, SC, Joann Bonthorn (Murray), of Mandurah, Australia, and Brenda Roberts, of Adams Run, SC. Also severa l nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (June 21, 2017) from 6PM-9PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A Funeral Service will be held Thursday (June 22, 2017) at 11AM at Hortense Church of God of Prophecy with Bishop Keith Burch, Bishop Billy Adams, and Bishop Eddie Crocker officiating.

Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery with Military Honors.

Pallbearers will be Chris Flowers, Alton Rowland, Jimmy DePratter, Joey Manning, Ray Johnson, Jimmy Robertson, Curtis Tompkins, and Wayne Thigpen.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
