Brenda Marlene Holcombe

Hortense – Brenda Marlene Davis Holcombe, 65, of Hortense passed away Sunday (May 7, 2017) at her residence after a brief illness.

Born in Miami, FL her parents were Lee Davis and Elizabeth Carlisle Davis.

Brenda also known as Nana Brenda to many was a RN and of the Baptist faith. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her family and gardening.

She is survived by 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Jason & Christal White of Trudie and Michael & Denna White of Hoboken; 3 daughters & sons-in-law, Cheryl & John Smith of Hickox, Tracy & Greg Lee of Hoboken, and Tiffani Morgan of Waycross; 11 grandchildren who were very much loved; a stepmother, Betty Davis of Atkinson Community; 2 brothers and a sister-in-law, David Davis of Lake City, FL, and Hank & Joni Davis of Hortense; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharron & John Smith of Atkinson and Vickie Hendrix of Nahunta; 5 stepbrothers, Steve Dykes, Roger Dykes, Joey Dykes, Walt Dykes, and Cary Dykes; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (May 9, 2017) starting at 6PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning (May 10, 2017) at 10am at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Bro. John Smith officiating.

A private burial will be held after the service.

Pallbearers will be Griffin Adams, Caleb Smith, Colby White, Possum Corbitt, Michael White, Jason White, Hank Davis, and John Smith.

Pallbearers are asked to be at the funeral home Wednesday by 9:30am.

The family will be receiving friends at Brenda's residence, 7281 Hwy 110 W Hortense GA 31543.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
