Carl Stafford Brinson

Waynesville – Carl Stafford Brinson, 89, of Waynesville passed away early Friday morning (January 15, 2016) at Magnolia Manor in St. Simons, GA after an extended illness.

Born in Plant City, FL his parents were Stafford Allen and Ollie Chancey Brinson. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Delma Lee Davidson Brinson; a daughter, Laura Jean Robertson; and 2 brothers, Raymond Brinson and Ronald Brinson.

Carl served in the United States Army during WWII and was a retired plant manager for Sea Pac Corp. He also owned an Escort service and loved gardening and working on cars in his earlier years. In his later years, he loved spending time and worshiping his great grandchildren.

Survivors include his 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Sheila Thibodeaux of Lafayette, LA and Tammy & Larry Groover of Waynesville; 7 grandchildren, Brent Whitford, Shane Whitford, Robin Robertson, Brandy Thibodeaux, Cindy Thibodeaux, Tracy Thibodeaux, and Tiffany Thibodeaux; 8 Great Grandchildren; 4 Great Great Grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy & Maggie Brinson of Palm Harbor, FL; 3 sisters and a brother-in-law, Ruth Weitman of Ft. Myers, FL, Ethel McCall of Mayo, FL and Judy & Marvin Snipes of Live Oak, FL; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
