Catherine 'Cathy' Elizabeth Ellis

Blackshear – Catherine “Cathy” Elizabeth Mixon Ellis, 59, of Blackshear passed away Saturday morning (October 27, 2018) at Memorial Satilla Hospital in Waycross after a brief illness.

Born in Folkston, GA her parents were Eddie Mixon and Evelyn Crews Rozier. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Joanna Beauregard.

Cathy was a homemaker and attended the Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy. She loved spending time with family especially her grandchildren and helping people. Also she enjoyed cooking, gardening, flowers and watching sports.

Survivors include her 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Jason Mixon of Waynesville and John & Della Ellis of Waynesville; a daughter and son-in-law, Amanda & Brian Westover of Waynesville; 3 grandchildren, Ambri Westover, Ellis Westover, and Mikey Rhoden; a sister and brother-in-law, Diann & Richard Chesser of Hoboken; special friend, Ron Thoma of Blackshear; and also several nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

Visitation will be held Monday evening (October 29, 2018) from 6PM – 8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Tuesday morning (October 30, 2018) at 11am at Atkinson Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Raymond Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mikey Rhoden, Marty Martin, Adam Carter, Travis Pittman, Ryan Day, and Richard Crews.

Honorary pallbearers will be Stacy Walker, Luke Pittman, and Matt Day.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
