Cecil Roy Phillips, Jr., 80, of Nahunta, died suddenly Friday morning (June 25,2010) at his residence. Born in Augusta, Georgia he was the son of , Cecil Roy and Julia Odell Moore Phillips, Sr. . He retired from the United States Marines and then from McKenzie Trucking in Jesup as a truck driver. He also loved fishing and spending time with his family. Preceded in death by his parents , three brothers, Perry, Doyle, and Troy Phillips. Three sisters, Shirley Winters, Dot Reeves, and Annie Ruth Matthews. Mr. Cecil is survived by one daughter and her spouse, Donna and Don Creamer of Lizella, GA., two sons, Randy and Ronnie Phillips both of Augusta, GA., one step-son, Richard Lee of Nahunta, two step-daughters, Rita Fowler of Port St. Lucie, Fl., and Venita McDonald of Coleman, Al., three brothers, Foy Phillips of Macon, Ga., Terry Phillips of Tennille, Ga., Warren Phillips of Clearwater, Fl., six sisters, Lavenia Achord of New York, Geraldine Owens of Augusta, Ga., Martha Rogers of Macon, Ga., Ruby Beckham of Panama City, Fl., Brenda Snellgrove and Debra Wolfe both of Milledgeville, Ga. Also several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held thirty minutes prior to service at the cemetery. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday (June 27, 2010) at New Hope Cemetery with Rev. Chuck Allen officiating. Frye Funeral Home of Nahunta is in charge of arrangements.
