Charles Edward Jackson, Sr.

Nahunta- Charles Edward Jackson, Sr., 78 of Nahunta, passed away Sunday (July 21, 2024) at his residence following an extended illness.

Born in Clarksville, TN., his parents were Lloyd Pleasant Jackson and Helen Ruth Graham Jackson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, L.P. Jackson; his sisters, Carrie Sue Green and Anne Richler; and also an infant sister.

Charles served in the United States Army and worked many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator for OPI. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and loved his family and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Nell Jackson, of Nahunta; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles Edward Jackson, Jr. (Kimberly Thompson Jackson) and Christopher Lee Jackson, all of Nahunta; his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Jackson Collette (Thomas), of Columbus, GA; 5 grandchildren, Joshua Andrew Collette, Alexandra Anne Collette, Jacob Charles Jackson, Chelsea Lynell Jackson, and Dania Jordan Jackson; two great grandbabies, Colton James Unrein and Emma Raye Bates; a brother, Gus Jackson, of Markle, IN. and a sister, Mary Evelyn Beeler, of Bluffton, IN. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Sunday (July 28, 2024) at 2PM at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Trey Keene officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday (July 28, 2024) from 1:30PM-2PM, at the Funeral Home.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
