Charles John Dean

Charles John Dean,68, of Atkinson, GA died suddenly Sunday afternoon (Nov. 29, 2009) at his home. Born in Jacksonville, FL, his parents were Herman Lanier and Kertis Boyd Dean. Preceded in death by his brother, Karlton Dean. He worked with CSX Railroad, and enjoyed riding his golf cart and feeding his fish. Mr. Charles was of the Baptist faith and served his Country in the Nation Guard. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sherry Hendrix Dean; 3 Children and their spouses,Kristie Dean and Jamie Johnson of Charleston, SC,Charles "Chuck" Wesley Dean of Waynesville, GA and Kellye Dean and Bradley Lyons of Raybon, GA; 3 Grandchildren, Wesley Dean, April and Shane Johnson; a Brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Thelma Dean of Atkinson, GA; and 2 Sisters and a brother-in-law, Gloria Pearson of Hortense, GA and Ernestine and Darwin Bailey of Titusville, FL; also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6 -8 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning (Dec. 2, 2009) at 11 a.m. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta with Rev. David Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery, Hickox. Pallbearers will be Charles "Chuck" Dean, Jonathan Bailey, Matt Brooker, Rev. Bruce Dean, Mitchell Hendrix and Karlton Johns. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be given to Nahunta United Methodist Youth Group, P.O. Box 126 Nahunta, GA, 31553.
