Charlie "C.W." William Riggins

Nahunta – Charlie William “C.W.” Riggins, 87, of Nahunta passed away Wednesday morning (March 29, 2023) at his residence after an extended illness.

Born in Hickox, GA his parents were Willie Major Riggins and Lula Crews Riggins. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Inez Riggins; a brother, Joe Riggins; and a brother-in-law, Bo Moody.

C.W. was a long-time barber and the owner of C.W. Riggins Barber Shop. He loved going to church and was a member of Riverside Chapel Baptist Church where he served many years as deacon and song leader, he also attended Hickox Baptist Church. C.W. loved all of his customers like they were family.  He  enjoyed hunting, his hunting dogs, singing, gardening and basketball.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Blanche Dixon Riggins of Nahunta; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene Anderson (Jimmy) of Nahunta; Lisa Thrift (Mark) of Folkston; 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Layton Anderson (Elizabeth) of Hortense, Zachry Anderson (Lindsey) of Nahunta, Ashley Paulk (Justin), of Woodbine and Anna Bennett (Justin) of Millwood; 10 great grandchildren, Emma Anderson, Sienna Bennett, Brooks Anderson, Blake Paulk, Cason Anderson, Ava Paulk, Jase Anderson, Bode Bennett, Sieley Bennett, and Charlie Anderson; a brother & sister-in-law, Harry Riggins (Margie) of Nahunta; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Charlotte Moody and Lillie Crews (Wain) all of Nahunta; a sister-in-law, Anne Riggins of St. Mary’s; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday afternoon (March 30, 2023) starting at 1PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A funeral service will be held Thursday afternoon (March 30, 2023) at 2pm at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Wainright, Bro. David Farrior and Rev. Jamie Giddens officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Layton Anderson, Zac Anderson, Mark Thrift, Justin Paulk, Justin Bennett and Brooks Anderson.

Honorary pallbearers will be C.W.’s Hunting Buddies and his customers.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
