Cheryl Denise Carter

Nahunta – Cheryl Denise Weimaster Carter, 77, of Nahunta passed away Saturday morning (July 6, 2024) at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Santa Maria, CA. her parents were Floyd Victor Weimaster and Melba June McDougal Weimaster.

Cheryl retired from Okefenokee Caps as a seamstress. She was of the Baptist faith. Cheryl loved horses, animals, fishing, working with flowers, hunting, and spending time with her family. She was known from the hunting club as "Country Girl".

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Tommie Carter of Nahunta; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Bradley Thomas Carter (Lindy) of Hoboken and David Christopher Carter of Blackshear; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held Wednesday (July 10, 2024) from 6-8PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A Graveside service will be held Thursday morning (July 11, 2024) at 10AM at Oak Grove cemetery with Rev. Jason Marden officiating.
