Hoboken – Christopher Connie “Big Daddy” Crews, 60, of Hoboken passed away Friday morning (February 10, 2023) at Memorial Health Center in Savannah after a brief illness.
Born in Blackshear, GA his parents were Connie Crews and Doris Lafain Redding Crews. He is also preceded in death by his uncle, Buster Crews; and a cousin, David Crews.
Big Daddy was a general foreman for OREMC where he was a dedicated employee for 38 years. He was a plain spoken man who never met a stranger and was a dedicated husband, father, brother, uncle, and poppop. Big Daddy was an electrician who enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, construction building, gardening, guns and reloading ammo.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Cynthia Crews of Hoboken; a son Kyle Crews (Haley) of Hoboken; a grandson, Kade Crews of Hoboken; a sister and brother-in-law, Lafain Crews Kirkland (Foy) of Blackshear; a nephew, Byron Wynn; and also several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Tuesday (February 14, 2023) at Springhill Cemetery.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday morning (February 14, 2023) at 11am at Springhill Cemetery with Bro. Jonathan McMillan and Bro. David Smith officiating.
Pallbearers will be BJ Hall, Will Wainright, Lane Wildes, Hunter Jordan, James Twilley and Kyle Crews. Honorary pallbearers will be James Lee, Jimmy Dowling and Belton Hanchey.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
