Hortense – Christy Nicole Lane Douberly, 33, of Hortense passed away early Sunday morning (August 15, 2021) at her residence after an extended illness.
Born in Jesup, GA her parents are Darrell “Joe” Lane and Peggy Robinson Lane of Hortense. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Peggy Inez Sloan Hearn; maternal great grandparents, W.P. Sloan and Nina Sloan; paternal great grandparents, J.W. Lane, Della Lane, Ira Cason and Ruby Lee Batten Cason.
Christy was a homemaker and a member of Bay Harbor Brantley Church of God. She was an ordained minister for the Church of God and loved to work at the Bay Harbor Brantley Food Ministry and ministering to Shane’s Crib, DRC, the Jail Ministry, and rehab facilities. Christy also enjoyed anything outdoors, fishing, hunting, and kayaking. She was very artistic and loved crafting and cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Todd Douberly of Hortense; 2 daughters, Marissa Rogers and Allyson Rogers of Hortense; her parents, Darrell “Joe” & Peggy Lane of Hortense; a brother, Joey Lane of Hortense; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Joni Reddick of Hortense and DeeAnn & Floyd Russell of Blackshear; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard & Vicki Douberly of Hortense; paternal grandparents, James H. Lane and Glenda Faye Lane of Hortense; aunts and uncles, Dean Lane, Dale Robinson (Kathy), Jimmy Robinson (Tammy), Rhonda Moody (Keith) all of Hortense, Danette Jacobs (Joe) of Brunswick and Renee Chaney (Joey) of Jesup; a special cousin, Cheree McEachern; 2 special friends, Sarah Carver and Celia McDonald both of Waycross; and also several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (August 17, 2021) from 6pm – 8pm at Bay Harbor Brantley Church of God.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning (August 18, 2021) at 11am at Bay Harbor Brantley Church of God with Rev. Tommy Gill officiating. Burial will follow in Little Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Dean Lane, Jayden Lane, Jerry Carver, Josh McDonald, Anthony Nettles and Malik Clark.
Due to COVID-19, we would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing, also face mask are highly recommended at the service. Anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the service the family would like you to know they understand and covet your prayers.
