Chrystene 'Chris' Elizabeth Elrod

Hortense – Chrystene “Chris” Elizabeth Boozer Elrod, 95, of Hortense passed away Wednesday afternoon (September 2, 2020) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick after a brief illness.

Born in Port Arthur, TX her parents were Hubbard Henry Boozer and Daisy Viola Foster Boozer. She is also preceded in death by her husband, William Franklin Elrod, Sr.; her daughter, Sydna Jean Elrod; and a son, John Henry Elrod.

Chris was a homemaker and a member of Twin Rivers Missionary Baptist Church. She was a greeter at the nursing home and loved cats, reading, coloring by numbers, and doing crossword puzzles.

Survivors include her son, William Franklin Elrod, Jr.; nephew, Charles “Britt” Elrod (Jo Ann) of Hortense; great nieces, Laura Lopez (Marvin) of Brunswick and Anna Ferra (George) of Atkinson; great great nephew, Cole Conrad of Atkinson; great great nieces, Ava Lee Ferra, and Serafina Ferra of Atkinson; and also several grandchildren, great grandchildren and several other relatives.

No services will be held at this time.
