Raybon- Mr. Cledith Albert Purdom,66, of Raybon died late Thursday night (Apr. 21, 2011) in The Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup after a sudden illness. Born in Raybon he was the son of Thomas Albert Purdom and Jewell Geneva Morgan Purdom. He attended Community Christian Church in Raybon and was retired from the Okefenokee REMC where he had worked as a truck driver. Mr. Purdom loved to fish and NASCAR and enjoyed working in his garden. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Jean Heafner Purdom, his parents , and a sister, Shelba "Sheb" Dean. Survived by 2-sons and a daughter-in-law, Chad S. and Maria Purdom, of Thomasville, GA., and Tommy A. Purdom, of Raybon, a daughter and son-in-law, Amie Purdom Harris and Tony, of Blackshear, 7-grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Purdom, Cory Poole, Brandon and Bryan Purdom, Blake and Hunter Harris, a brother, Hartwell Purdom, of Raybon, also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be at the funeral home Sunday evening starting at 6 P.M. Funeral services will be Monday (Apr. 25, 2011) at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta with Rev. Hilton Morgan and Rev. Leon Wilson officiating. Pallbearers will be Chris Boatright, Daniel Grafford, John Ruesga, Landis Harper, Mark Gibson and Gene Solano. Honorary are Clipper and Sherri Smith, Gene Christian, James Chesser, Cleve Herrin and Cleve Wilson. Burial will be in the family plot at Rob Lewis Cemetery in Raybon. In lieu of flowers family request donations towards burial expense. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
