Clyde Harris Tillman

Waynesville - Mrs. Clyde G. Harris Tillman, 92, of Waynesville died early Tuesday morning (November 15, 2011) at Bayview Nursing Home the after a brief illness. Born April 24, 1919 in Cook County, GA., she was one of the 6 children of Henry & Irene Griner Harris. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 75 years, Z.H. Tillman, her parents and siblings, Matilda Cory, Camilla McKinney, Archie Harris, Arthur Harris, & Leroy Harris, and also grand daughter and a son-in-law. Mrs. Tillman retired from the Presbyterian Home in Quitman, Ga. She and Mr. Tillman moved to Brantley Co. in 1986. She was a member of King Memorial Baptist Church. She taught the Adult Ladies Sunday School Class and was instrumental in the foundation of "Super Circle", the fellowship ministry of the Senior Saints. She lead this ministry until her health prevented her from fulfilling the leadership role. However, she and Mr. Tillman remained active until going to Bayview. Survivors include 6 children and their spouses, Yvonne Jordan of China Grove, NC, Bobbie & Frances Tillman of Moultrie, GA, Ernestine & Eddie Hunnewell of Waynesville, GA, Frank & Donna Tillman of China Grove, NC, Tommy & Cheri Tillman of Brunswick, GA, & Timmy Tillman of Brunswick, GA; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday evening (November 18, 2011) starting at 6 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A funeral service will be held Saturday morning (November 19, 2011) at 11 AM at King Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Yawn officiating. Burial will follow in Homeward Cemetery, Camden County. Pallbearers will be Charles Chaney, Clayton 'Bo' Hendricks, Greg 'Rooster' King, Daryl Whatley, Marshall Edgy, & Mike Smith.Honorary Pallbearers will be the staff at Bayview nursing home. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
