Browntown-Corina M. Nix, 83, of Browntown, went to meet her Heavenly Father early Friday morning (February 14, 2014) after a good long and enjoyable life with her family and friends. Corina was born October 14, 1930 in Caracas, Venezuela. She was the daughter of Uribe and Uliana Corre Marichu. She is also preceded in death by 2 sons, John Lester Nix and Tony Nix; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Knight. Corina and her family came to the United States January 26, 1962 and she became a citizen of the United States in 1967. She and John C. Nix were married on March 2, 1969 and made their home on Post Road in Brantley County, where they finished rearing their children. Corina was a homemaker and a very special person, loving wife, mother and friend to everyone. She loved her Father in Heaven and his Son Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. Also she loved reading her Bible every morning. Corina was a member of Waynesville Baptist Church and was a co-owner and operator of Waynesville Grocery, The Coffee Shop and J & C Ranch. She loved the outdoors, going on trail rides on their wagon and camping out. Also she loved going to the gospel and blue grass sings. She was also a member of The Plow Days Club and OTRA Trail Riders where she loved to fellowship. Survivors include her husband, John C. Nix of Browntown; 3 children and their spouses, Priscilla & Kenny Popwell of Browntown, Betty & Denis Nold of Oronoce, Minn, and Irving & Ruthie Nix of Waynesville; 9 grandchildren; 12 Great Grandchildren; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Sunday (February 16, 2014) starting at 2Pm at Waynesville Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (February 16, 2014) at 3PM at Waynesville Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Carr and Rev. Emory Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Waynesville. Pallbearers will be Michael Culver, Gary Turner, Randy Turner, David Naves, Robert Naves, Cliff Morgan and Todd Morgan. The family would like to honor all family, friends, neighbors and member of Waynesville Baptist Church, God and Jesus, and Hospice of the Golden Isles and Staff.
