Dan 'Mutt' Moody

Mr. Dan "Mutt" Moody, 82, of Hortense, GA died Tuesday (Dec. 15, 2009) at Wayne Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Hortense, GA, his parents were Isaac "Ike" Moody and Courtney Strickland Moody. He served in the United States Army and retired in 1988 from the Civil Service where he worked as a Fireman and also was a member of Satilla Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Ruby Branch Moody; 2 Sons and a daughter-in-law, Dan and Dana Moody, Jr. and Jimmy Moody all of Hortense; 3 Grandchildren, Dallas Moody, Brandon Nuhfer and Cierra Moody; a Brother and sister-in-law, Sonny and Carol Ann Moody of Patterson; a Sister and brother-in-law, Polly and Joe T. Moody of Glennville; also, several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be Thursday evening (Dec. 17, 2009) starting at 6 p.m. at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Funeral services will be Friday morning (Dec. 18, 2009) at 11 a.m. from the Satilla Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Harris and Rev. R. C. Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Hortense Cemetery with Honors from the Firefighters. Pallbearers will be Terry Boatright, Keith Moody, Scott Chesser, Chad Chesser, Jimmy Roberson and Loren Altman. Honorary pallbearers will be Sr. Adult Sunday School Class, Firefighters, Sammy Davis and Hubert Lane. All are ask to please meet at the church Friday morning by 10:30 A.M.
