David Hayes

Nahunta – David Hayes, 61, of Nahunta passed away unexpectedly Tuesday (August 4, 2020) at his residence.

Born in Waycross, GA his parents were Babe Ruth “Boots” Hayes, Sr. and Bertie Lou Griffin Hayes.

David was employed with the Road dept as a Road Superintendent until he became disabled. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed camping, hunting, spending time with grandbabies.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Virginia Ann Albritton Hayes of Nahunta; 1 son, David Kyle Hayes of Nahunta; 1 daughter and son-in-law, Kristy O’Neal (Timmy) of Hickox; 6 grandchildren, Alyssa O’Neal Wilson (Alex), Matthew O’Neal, Mark O’neal, Kyler Hayes, Hunter Hayes, and Oakley Hayes; 2 great grandchildren, Anna Gray Wilson and Amelia Kate Wilson; 3 siblings, Steve Hayes (Delinda) of Waynesville, B.R. Hayes, Jr. of Nahunta, and Vicky Hayes Allen of Screven. Also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends,

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing and face mask are recommended at the service. Also anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the Family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

The family will be receiving friends at the residence 4299 Buffalo Creek Dr. Nahunta, GA on Thursday (August 6, 2020) starting at 2PM

A graveside service will be held Friday evening (August 7, 2020) at 3PM at New Hope Cemetery. With Rev. Grady Allbritton officiating.

Pallbearers will be Eric Hayes, Garrett Strickland, Justin Mallory, Ethan Flowers, Britton Flowers, and Lamar Albritton.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
