David Joseph Rushing

David Joseph Rushing, 42, of Waynesville, GA died Thursday afternoon (Sept. 2, 2010) At his residence following a lengthy illness. Born in Brunswick, GA, his parents are Alton Ira Rushing, Jr. and the late Mary Kay Champey Rushing. David was raised by his grandparents the late Richard and Louise Champey. He was in the Water Well Drilling business and was a member of Masonic Lodge #371. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, camping and the outdoors. He was of the Methodist faith. David is survived by his wife, Tressa Marlene Edgy Rushing; 3 Daughters and a son-in-law, Heather Marlene Rushing; Mary Kay Elizabeth Rushing and Robert Hoff; and Taylor Nicole Rushing all of Waynesville, GA; a Grandson, Lavaughn Nathaneal Allen Hoff; his Father and Step-mother, Alton and Shelby Jean Rushing of Brunswick; 4 Brothers and a sister-in-law, Alton Ira Rushing, III and Richard Bryan Rushing both of Waynesville; Christopher Basil and Shawna Rushing of Brunswick; and Miller Ward Rushing of Jekyll Island; 2 Sisters and a brother-in-law, Shelley Lee Griffis of Brunswick; Kelley Jean and Chris King of Virginia; 2 Step-brothers, Steven Crew and Jay Crew; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Memorialization will be by cremation. A Memorial service will be held Saturday (Sept. 4, 2010) at 4 p.m. at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta with Mr. Daven Anders and Mr. Steven Crew officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. In Lieu of Flowers donation can be given to Multiple Sclerosis Society-Georgia Chapter, 1100 Circle 75 PkWy SE, Atlanta, GA 30339. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing on the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
