Debra Yvonne McCarthy

Hortense – Debra Yvonne Dixon “Nannie Mac” McCarthy, 66, of Hortense passed away with her granddaughter, Ella, Sunday evening (June 18, 2023) from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Born in Blackshear, GA her parents were Harry DePratter and Yvonne Sellers DePratter. She is preceded  in death by her husband, Ralph “Mac” McCarthy; her granddaughter, Ella Nicole Knight; sister, Donna Adams; and brother, Darrell Dixon.

Debra was a caregiver and a member of Satilla Missionary Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family especially her grandbabies, being the grandbabies’ Uber driver, fishing and was a connoisseur of food.

Survivors include her daughter, Sheena Knight (Mike) of Hortense; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Trent Knight (Jennifer) of Twin Rivers Community and Anthony Manibusan (Amy) of Hortense; her grandchildren, Briley Manibusan of Hortense, Bryston Knight (Alex) of Twin Rivers Community and Bricee Manibusan (Hunter) of Hortense; sister, Reagan Dixon of Hortense; aunt, Kay Sellers of Hortense; special friends, Larry & Joy Knight of Hortense; Bonus grandchildren, Karhson Kohl, Kahson Dixon of Hortense, Tori Chesser (Chris) of Hortense, Emily Chesser of Hortense, Blake Chesser of Brunswick, Jess Sellers of Hortense, Deashea Clark of Nahunta, Ava Strickland of Nahunta and a bonus great grandchild, Wrenley Byrd (Nannies baby Bryd) of Hortense and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on  Friday morning (June 23, 2023) starting at 10am at the chapel of Frye Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held Friday morning (June 23, 2023) at 11am at the Chapel of Frye Funeral Home with Bro. David Herrin officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Rivers Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bryston Knight, Hunter Anderson, Anthony Manibusan, Eric Causey, Justin Copeland, Warren Moody, and Gage Copeland.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
