Douglas - Deloris Boatwright, 48, of Douglas passed away early Saturday morning (October 31, 2015) at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Jesup, GA her parents were Richard James and Verlie Allen Boatwright. She is also preceded in death by 2 nieces, Jessica Davis and Kayla Taft. Deloris was a member of Hortense Church of God of Prophecy and loved spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed going to the beach, watching wrestling, doing cross word puzzles, and eating oysters. Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Ricky & Susan Boatwright of Claxton; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Evelyn & Darrell Davis of Kingsland, Judy & Clayton Taft of Douglas, and Janice & Victor Mercer of Hortense; 7 nieces and nephews, Richard James Boatwright, III, Darrell Davis, James Davis, Katrina Stevens, Clayton "Bubba" Taft, Cameron Mercer, and Seth Mercer; 7 great nieces and nephews, Owen Boatwright, Averi Davis, Trenton Davis, Hunter Stevens, Grayson Taft, Ryder Mercer, and Ryleigh Mercer; and also several cousins and other relatives. Visitation will be held Sunday evening (November 1, 2015) starting at 6pm at Hortense Church of God of Prophecy. A funeral service will be held Monday afternoon (November 2, 2015) at 2pm at Hortense Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Rob Hutto, Rev. Charlie Brown, Rev. Ricky Knox, and Bro. Whelan Taft officiating. Burial will follow in Satilla Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Darrell Davis, James Davis, Clayton Taft, Seth Mercer, Cameron Mercer, Richard Boatwright, III, Jason Sweat, Ferrell Taft, and Gene Oglesby.
