Denise Sears Moody

Nahunta-Denise Sears Moody, 53 of Nahunta, passed away suddenly, Sunday evening (May 10, 2015) at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, GA. Born in Athens, GA., her parents were the late Claude Grayson "Joe" Sears and Gloria Popwell Sears, of Nahunta. Denise was a member of Nahunta First Baptist Church, and enjoyed swimming, fishing, and tennis. She was a graduate of Georgia Southern University in 1987, and Nursing Home Administrator for many years before she started farming. Survivors include her husband, Dan Moody, of Nahunta; her son, Zane Sears Moody, of Nahunta; her mother, Gloria Popwell Sears, of Nahunta; and a sister, Dara Sears, of Nahunta. Also several other extended family members. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (May 12, 2015) starting at 6PM, at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday morning (May 13, 2015) at 11AM at Frye Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Rowell and Zane Moody officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clinton Davis, Phillip Popwell, Jason Bolin, Bud Badyna, D.J. Johns, Allen Strickland, David Lake, and Edward Hunnewell. Family and Pallbearers are asked to meet at the Funeral Home Wednesday by 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
