Nahunta – Donald Oglesby, 74, of Nahunta passed away Sunday morning (August 7, 2022) at his residence after an extended illness.
Born in Blackshear, GA his parents were George “Tiny” Oglesby and Peggy Sue King Oglesby. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Angela Dees Oglesby; and 2 brothers, Wayne Oglesby and George Buddy Oglesby.
Donald was a retired machine supervisor for Gilman Paper Company and served in the United States Air Force. In his younger years, he played for the Blackshear Tigers. He loved spending time with his family, football, watching racing, fishing and water skiing.
Survivors include 2 daughters and a son-in-law, Amy Oglesby Lloyd (David) of St. Mary’s and Lennie Oglesby of Nahunta; 6 grandchildren, Angelica McFarlin, Ryan Crauthers, Ayron Moleen, Brooke Moleen, Oison Mullis and Taylin Dickerson; 2 great grandchildren, Klaus Boschulte and Tymon Boschulte; 2 brothers and sisters-in-law, David Oglesby (Donna) and Fred Oglesby (Tammy) all of Blackshear; 6 sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Shuman of Hoboken, Martha Broyles of Clarksville, TN, Alene Eason of Folkston, Bobbie Sue Johnson of Los Angeles, CA, Peggy King (Tim) of Blackshear and Dale Sikes (Chris) of Brantley Co; and also several nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held Sunday (August 21, 2022) at 4pm at Laura Walker State Park Group Building #1.
Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
