Doris Martin Barnard

Doris Jeanette Martin Barnard, 77 of Nahunta, passed away Sunday evening (November 27, 2016) at Hospice Satilla in Waycross following an extended illness.

Born in Hoboken, Ga., her parents were the late Watson Martin and Goldie Melton. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Ralph McGinty Barnard; one grandchild, Casey Morgan; 2 brothers, Delmus Martin and Raymond Martin; one sister, Ruby Barnard; one son-in-law, Stanley Nichols.

She was of the Christian Faith. She loved reading the newspaper, doing word searches, sewing, watching Hallmark on TV, shopping, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Survivors include 3 daughters and son-in-law, Debra Haskew (Johnny) of Nahunta, Vicky Nichols, of Nahunta, Bonnie Morgan (Wayne) of Raybon, 4 grandchildren; Michael Heick, Mandy Morgan (Billy), Kristen Crews (Brandon), Kyle Morgan; 6 great grandchildren, Lucy Morgan, Ansley Morgan, Haley Morgan, Sidney Morgan, Kase Crews and Kannon Crews; 2 brothers and spouses, Thomas Martin (Ruth), of Waycross, Alton Martin (Gail), of Vienna, Ga.; one sister, Linda Sirmons (Larry), of Waycross.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (November 29, 2016) from 6 PM-8 PM at Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday (November 30, 2016) at 11:00 AM at Southside Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Barnard and Rev. Jerry Johns officiating.

Burial will follow in High Bluff cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Martin, Travis Martin, Randall Hickox, James Barnard, Glen Barnard, and Josh Sirmons.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
