Nahunta- Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Morgan Ham, 75, of Nahunta died late Friday night (Oct. 25, 2013) at The Bayview Nursing Home in Nahunta after an extended illness. Born in Jesup, Georgia she was the daughter of Joseph "Dick" Talmadge Morgan and Ruby Thomas Morgan. Mrs. Ham was a member of The Nahunta First Baptist Church. She was also a charter member of The Daughters of American Revolution, and a member of Daughters of The Confederacy, also a charter member of The Brantley County Historical Society. After graduating from The University of Georgia in 1962, Mrs. Ham returned to this area and started her teaching career in 1965 and retired from The Brantley County School System in 1991. She preceded by her parents. Survived by her husband of 55 years, Huey Ham, of Nahunta, her son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Paula Ham, of Nahunta, her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy Ham Hendrix and Freddie, of Hickox, 4-Grandchildren, Renee Smith (Kris), of Nahunta, Hilary Harris (Devin), of Hickox, Elizabeth Ham and Joseph Ham both of Nahunta, 3-Great grandchildren, Katlyn, Kirsten and Kibrey Smith, her loving sister and brother-in-law, Marian and Tyrus Manning, of Nahunta, also several other family members and a host of friends. Visitation will be held Sunday evening (Oct. 27, 2013) starting at 6 P.M. at The Frye Funeral Home in Nahunta. Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Ham will be held Monday morning (Oct. 28, 2013) at 11 A.M. from The Nahunta First Baptist Church with Rev. Randy Carson officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot in The New Hope Cemetery in Hickox. Pallbearers will be Ty Manning, Jeff Wood, Kris Smith, Devin Harris, Wayne Crabb Jerod Overturf and Wiley Crews.
