Dorothy 'Jewell' Wilson Douberly

Hortense – Dorothy “Jewell” Wilson Douberly, 69, of Hortense passed away Monday morning (May 11, 2020) at her residence after an extended illness.

Born in Waynesville, GA her parents were Elbert Wilson and Nora Belle Altman Wilson. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Janice Wilcox.

Jewell was an interior designer and a member of Little Memorial Baptist Church. She loved being outdoors, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Donald Leon Douberly, Sr. of Hortense; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald Douberly, Jr. (Cynthia) and Richie Douberly all of Hortense; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Harrington (Robbie) of Lake Park, GA; 10 grandchildren, Kimberly Ribron (Mikey), Amber Richardson (Bubba), Megan Williams (Michael), Dalton Harrington (Lauren), Kalyn Harrington, Zachary Harrington, Kaitlin Wyrick (Mikey), Samantha Douberly, Jay Douberly, and Porter Douberly; 8 great gradchildren; 5 brothers and sisters-in-law, J.H. Wilson (Anita) of Waynesville, Dan Wilson of Racepond, Harley Wilson (Susie) of Racepond, Lester Wilson (Shelby) of Jesup, and Rev. Emory Wilson (Mary) of Waynesville; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane Rakes, Geraldine Newman (Freddie) and Maebelle Ammons (Jamie) all of Waynesville; and also several nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Due to the COVID-19, the family would like to ask all to please follow the rules for social distancing at visitation. Also, anyone who does not feel comfortable with attending the services the Family would like for you to know they understand and covet your prayers.

The family will be receiving friends at the residence’s of Donald Douberly, 6825 Mt. Pleasant Rd, Hortense, GA 31543 Wednesday evening (May 13, 2020) starting at 6PM.

Due to the COVID-19, the family will be having a private graveside service Thursday (May 14, 2020) at Little Cemetery in Hortense.

Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta.
