Hoboken- Dorothy Vivian Wilson Griffin ,93, of Hoboken died Sunday morning (November 3, 2013) at the Satilla Hospice House in Waycross after an extended illness. Born in Waynesville, GA her parents were Frank Monroe & Eliza Edgy Wilson. She is also preceded in death by 2 sons, Stanley Griffin and Monroe Griffin; 3 brothers, Earl Wilson, Elbert Wilson and Harold Wilson; and a sister, Dola Meyers. Dorothy was a floor manager for Rueben Brothers Shoe Factory for many years and a member of West Carswell Baptist Church in Waycross. She enjoyed going to church and being a Sunday School teacher and working in her flowers. Also she was a teacher for Brantley County where she was the President for the P.T.A. for two years and received the Golden Scroll Award from the National P.T.A. Survivors include 3 Sons & Daughters-in-law, Johnny & Charlene Griffin of Hoboken, Jimmy Griffin of Waycross and Joey & April Griffin of Hoboken; a step daughter and spouse, Delores & Timbo Crews of Waynesville; 16 Grandchildren; 30 Great-Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great-Grandchild; 2-daughters-in-law, Cathy Griffin, of Hoboken and Lillian Griffin, of Waycross and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening (November 5, 2013) from 6-9PM at the residence of Jimmy Griffin, 857 Russton Dr. Waycross, GA 31503. A funeral service will be held Wednesday afternoon (November 6, 2013) at 2PM at Pilgrims Rest Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Emory Wilson and Rev. Mike Yawn officiating. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jamie Griffin, Shane Wilson, Misty Griffin, Curtis Griffin, Kevis Griffin, Cory Griffin and Brandon Griffin. Arrangements are with Frye Funeral Home, Nahunta. Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.fryefh.com.
